Tainted Love

Hello all!  Newly single lady who’s dating in RVA for the first time (not dating for the first time thank god, I’m 24).  Here are the top ten reasons why I’m petrified:

1.  Gossip.  Yep, I’ve heard you’re a small, small city RVA, and I’m worried about what I’ll hear…about myself and my first date.

2.  STDs.  Don’t think I need to explain this one further.  RVA is quite the intermingling dating pool.

3.  Eskimo sisters.  For those of you who haven’t seen The League on FX (and you should, it’s an awesome show), an Eskimo sister (or brother, in the case of the show) is a female who has slept with one of the guys you’ve slept with (or vice versa obviously).  I’ve got to say, I’m a little frightened (and a little curious) to meet some of you fine ladies down the road.

4.  Awkward rejections.   Not sure what I’m more scared of here…being rejected or rejecting some one else!  Not fun.

5.  Getting too drunk on a date.  I’m sure this would be really fun for my date though… I get pretty horny when drunk (glad this blog is anon).

6.  Social media.  The social media scene in RVA is a pretty public place.  Don’t want my non-anon business up here!

7.  VCU.  The idea of having to filter out college-age guys is just something I’m going to have to go through.  Not that I don’t love you guys, but I don’t want to spend any nights in a dorm room.  Sorry.

8.  Short-term relationships.  They seem to be a small plague here…you’re utterly infatuated with some one for a short period of time, and then it suddenly fizzles.  Actually…that’s both scary and exciting.

9.  Being a slut.  Here’s where I need your input ladies: what’s the current socially acceptable time to sleep with a guy?  go down on a guy (yep, I said it, and he’d better return the favor!)?

10. Wanting to smack a ho/bro.  I’m a pretty relaxed person, but some of you ladies (and men)….crazy.  Not looking forward to any single girl altercations.

With all that said, this was meant to be silly, so here’s some things I am looking forward to, in no particular order.

-  guitar players.  enough said.

-  tattoos.  again, enough said.

-  drinks with girls

-  trips with the girls

-  shopping for slutty halloween costume (s)

-  not having to awkwardly say ‘I’m taken’ to really hot guys

-  the surprise of meeting some one new

-  getting taken to different places around town that I’ve never seen

-  meeting all of you hopefully nice people!
